So far 2 Indians and 1 Pakistani have been killed in the suspected drone strikes in Abu Dhabi. Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthi movement claimed responsibility for the attack, according to Abu Dhabi Police. Reportedly, 6 others have been injured due to the attack, according to WAM, reports Al-Arabiya English of Dubai.

Indian envoy to UAE Sanjay Sudhir confirmed to news agency ANI that the identities of the two Indians killed were not known.

In Abu Dhabi, two separate fires broke out, one caused by an explosion of oil tankers and the other in an extension to the Abu Dhabi International Airport on Monday. Abu Dhabi Police have confirmed that three petroleum tankers exploded in the attack.

While Abu Dhabi police did not immediately offer any suspects for a possible attack, Yemen’s Houthi rebels claimed responsibility for the attack targeting the United Arab Emirates without elaboration. The Iranian-backed Houthis carried out several attacks, claims Emirati officials later denied, the AP news agency reported.

Police have confirmed that drones were used in connection with the explosion of three oil tankers and a minor fire in the airport extension.

Police described the airport fire as “minor” and said it occurred on an extension to the international airport which is still under construction.
