2 drunk youths harass girl at BHU campus, friend tries to save her Varanasi News – Times of India

Varanasi: High voltage drama was witnessed in the Banaras Hindu University campus on Monday night when two youths in an inebriated state allegedly started harassing a student near LD Guest House and thrashed her friend too.
ACP Bhelupur Praveen Kumar Singh said that on the complaint of the girl, an FIR has been registered against Upkar Dubey alias Bajrangi and his unidentified accomplice under sections 354, 323 and 504 of IPC at Lanka police station after midnight. Raids are being conducted to nab the accused.
BHU Chief Proctor Prof Anand Choudhary said that the accused are university students, so action is also being ensured against them by the university administration.
The girl, along with her friend, was sitting on a platform near the LD guest house in the BHU campus when Dubey and his accomplice reached there in an inebriated state.
At first he asked why the girl was sitting there with her friend and later started harassing her. When his friend tried to save him, they beat him up.
The girl approached the varsity proctorial board after which she was taken to the Lanka police station to register an FIR. Police said that the accused would be arrested soon.
