2 containers to be set up under PM Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission: Mandaviya

New Delhi: Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Tuesday said that under PM Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission two containers with all health facilities will be set up which can be taken to any place in case of emergency.

He said these containers with a capacity of around 200 beds would be kept in Delhi and Chennai, adding that they can be airlifted or taken by trains in case of emergency. Mandaviya said, “The central government has adopted a ‘total’ not a ‘token’ approach in healthcare and added that the COVID-19 pandemic has given an opportunity to improve health infrastructure and for this PM Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission has been launched. An investment of Rs.64,000 crore has been made.

On giving Covaxin the WHO’s Emergency Use List (EUL), the minister said the world health body has a system in place with a technical committee that approved Covaxin, and now it has been transferred to another committee for evaluation Is. “The second committee is meeting on Tuesday. Based on this meeting, the approval for Covaxin will be given,” he said. Addressing a press conference, Mandaviya also said that out of 1.5 lakh such centers in the country, around 79,415 health and wellness centers have been made operational.

He said that there should be good laboratories at all levels at district or national level. The Health Minister said that PM Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission is such an “important scheme that an average of Rs 90-100 crore in a district will be spent on health infrastructure, so that we will be able to fight against any calamity that comes.” time”. He said, ‘Under this scheme, 134 types of tests will be done free of cost at the district level, which is a big step. Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission is one of the biggest all India schemes to strengthen healthcare infrastructure across the country. This is in addition to the National Health Mission. It aims to fill gaps in public health infrastructure, especially critical care facilities and primary care in both urban and rural areas. It will provide support to 17,788 rural health and wellness centers in 10 high focus states. In addition, 11,024 urban health and wellness centers will be set up in all the states.

Through this, critical care services will be available in all the districts with a population of more than five lakhs in the country through exclusive critical care hospital blocks, while the remaining districts will be covered through referral services.
