2 big scientists divided on the third wave of Corona: ICMR said- Third wave will come in next 3 weeks, up to one lakh cases will come daily; IIT professor said – India is near herd immunity

Scientists of two big institutions of the country are divided regarding the third wave of Corona. Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) Chief Scientist Professor Samiran Panda has claimed that in the next three weeks i.e. by the end of August, the third wave of corona will come in the country. It is estimated that during that time one lakh infected will be found every day. Not only this, he said that if the nature of the virus changes, then the situation will be very bad.

On the other hand, IIT Kanpur Professor Manindra Agarwal has given the opposite statement. He dismissed the possibility of the third wave being dangerous. He claims that India is close to herd immunity. So there is no need to be afraid. Even if the third wave comes, it will not be as terrible as the second wave.

What did ICMR say?
ICMR Chief Scientist Professor Samiran Panda has expressed apprehensions that the third wave of Kovid-19 will come in India by the end of August. During this, about 1 lakh cases will come every day. If there is no further change in the virus, then the third wave will be similar to the first wave. If the virus changes form then the situation can be very bad. Professor Panda believes that there may be a rapid increase in corona cases due to low vaccination rate and relaxation in lockdown. Imperial College London and ICMR have used mathematical models to gauge the risk of a third wave.
