1,978 Kovid-19 cases registered in Karnataka, 56 deaths Bengaluru News – Times of India Times

BENGALURU: Karnataka logged 1,978 fresh logins on Sunday COVID-19 The infections took the caseload to 28.71 lakh, while 56 fatalities took the toll to 35,835.
With 2,326 people getting discharged in the state, the total number of cured people touched nearly 28 lakh
The health department’s bulletin states that the active cases in the state are 36,737.
Bangalore Urban District Topping the list with 433 infections and eight deaths, the highest among all districts, is followed by Mysore With 261 cases and two deaths.
Dakshina Kannada reported 195 cases and seven deaths.
Hassan, Shivamogga, Belagavi, Tumakuru, Udupi, Kodagu, Bengaluru Rural and Mandya together reported 765 cases.
There have been six deaths in Belagavi, five each in Hassan and Kolar, four in Dharwad and three in Shivamogga, the department said.
Deaths were also reported in 13 other districts.
There were zero deaths in Ballari, Bidri, Chitradurga, Kalaburagi, Kodagu, Koppal, Raichur, Udupi, Vijayapura and Yadgir, it said.
The state conducted 1,58,898 COVID tests on Sunday, taking the total number of samples tested so far to 3.59 crore.
The bulletin said that 2.56 crore vaccinations have been done in the state so far, which includes 89,037 vaccinations on Sunday.
The positivity rate for the day was 1.24 per cent and case fatality rate, 2.83 percent.
