19,740 Kovid cases registered in India in last 24 hours, active cases lowest in 206 days

Corona Case Update: In the last few days, there has been a slight decline in the cases of corona virus in India. The country has reported 19,740 fresh infections in the last 24 hours, taking the active caseload to 2,40,221 which is the lowest in 205 days, informed the Union Health Ministry. The total caseload was 3,39,35,309.

248 deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours. More than 50 percent of the total cases have come from Kerala.

Active cases account for less than 1% of the total cases, currently at 0.71%, the lowest since March 2020. The recovery rate currently stands at 97.96% which is the highest since March 2020.

In the last 24 hours, 24,963 patients have been cured in the country, taking the total number of people who have recovered to 3,32,25,221.

Kerala

Kerala on Friday reported 10,944 fresh COVID-19 cases and 120 deaths, taking the number of infections to 47,74,639 and the death toll to 26,070.

An official press release said that the number of people who have recovered from the disease since Thursday stood at 12922, taking the total recoveries to 46,31,330 and active cases to 1,16,645.

The positivity rate was 11.46 for Friday and 12.34 for the last 7 days.

Among the 14 districts, Ernakulam reported the highest number of cases with 1,932, followed by Thiruvananthapuram (1,703), Kozhikode (1,265), and Thrissur (1,110).

The state is showing a decline in daily fresh cases after crossing the 30,000 mark after the Onam festival in August.

Maharashtra

Maharashtra recorded 2,620 new coronavirus positive cases on Thursday, taking the total infections to 65,73,092, while the death toll of 59 people took the toll to 1,39,470, the health department said.

A total of 2,943 patients recovered and were discharged during the day, taking the number of recoveries to 63,97,018, a statement said.

There are currently 33,011 active cases in the state.

Maharashtra’s COVID-19 recovery rate stands at 97.32 per cent, while the death rate stands at 2.12 per cent.

As many as 1,47,320 people were tested during the day, taking the state’s cumulative testing count to 5,97,66,957.

The city of Mumbai recorded 1010 cases and 15 deaths. The city has recorded 7,47,685 cases and 16,149 deaths so far.

The Mumbai division, which includes the city and its satellite townships, recorded 995 cases and seven deaths during the day.
