16 convicted in Dhingsara honor killing: Fatehabad court will sentence 22; A young man who married a love was brutally murdered

The court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Dr. Pankaj has convicted all the 16 accused in the famous Dhingsara honor killing case in Fatehabad, Haryana. Now after the debate on the sentence, the court will pronounce the verdict on March 22.

According to the information, on the complaint of Raisingh resident of Dhingsara, on 1st June 2018, Sunderlal, Sher Singh, Balwan, Vikram, Bhanwar Singh alias Bhanwara, Balraj Singh, Nekiram, Ravi, Dharampal alias Jagar, Ravi, Dalbir, Surjeet, Shriram, A case was registered against Sahabram, Vedprakash, Viruram, Vinod Kumar, Balbir Singh under sections 146, 149, 285, 364, 452, 302, 201, 120B and Arms Act of IPC. Of these 17 accused, Shriram died during the court trial.

It is noteworthy that this case of honor killing was in the category of marked crime of the government. After hearing the arguments of both the sides, the court has held the above 16 accused guilty under sections 302, 364, 452, 285, 120B, 201, 148 and Arms Act of IPC. The court will sentence all these 16 convicts on March 22.

It is to be known that the deceased Dharambir resident of village Dobi had done love marriage with Sunita, resident of village Mangali, who lived in Sheeshwal village of Hisar, at her maternal uncle’s house, in Chhatrapati temple of Sirsa in March 2018. He had also demanded security from the guilty Dalbir etc. citing danger to his life.

After marriage, Dharambir along with his wife had come to his maternal uncle Raisingh’s house in Dhingsara village. On June 1, the above convicts reached Jaisingh’s house and kidnapped Sunita and Dharambir on the strength of their weapons and took them with them. After this, the above culprits had killed Dharambir by thrashing him with rubber straps and sticks in Sheeshwal village and threw his body in the canal. A day later Dharambir’s body was recovered from the canal in Hanumangarh.
