’15 years in my favorite jersey’: Rohit Sharma recalls his cricketing journey, thanks fans for their support

India captain Rohit Sharma has thanked all those who have helped him become the player that he is today as the Mumbai batsman on the day he made his international debut 15 years ago.

Sharma, who made his international debut on 23 June 2007 in a One Day International against Ireland in Belfast, remembered the day with a message.

“15 years in my favorite jersey,” tweeted Rohit Sharma alongside the blue shirt.

The accompanying statement said that it has been a journey that he will cherish for the rest of his life.

He said, ‘Today I complete 15 years of international cricket since making my debut for India. What a journey it has been, definitely one that I will cherish for the rest of my life,” he said in his statement.

“I just want to thank everyone who has been a part of this journey and a special thanks to those who helped me become the player I am today,” he said.

Thanking all his fans, he said, “To all the cricket lovers, fans and critics: your love and support for the team is what helps us overcome the obstacles we all inevitably face.”

The 35-year-old Sharma has scored 9283 runs in 223 innings of 230 matches, including 29 hundreds including two double centuries at an average of 48.60. In 125 T20Is, Harma has scored 3313 runs with a high of 118, including four tons and 26 half-centuries. In Tests, the Mumbai Indians captain has scored 3137 runs in 77 innings of 45 matches. He has hit eight tons and 14 fifties at an average of 46.13.
