At least 15 Pakistani soldiers, including a senior officer, have been killed in the attack by Tehreek-e-Taliban, media reports said on Tuesday. According to reports, Captain Abdul Basit was out for an operation at Kurram Agency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, when he and his team were attacked.

Meanwhile, claims of kidnapping of many Pakistani soldiers by Taliban are also emerging on social media.

According to reports, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed responsibility for the attack. However, there has been no official statement from the Pakistani government or army on his casualties.

The TTP has been behind several terror attacks in Pakistan, including the recent bombings near the Serena Hotel in Quetta, where Chinese envoys to Pakistan were staying.
