Ghaziabad: Four people gang-raped by taking them to a flat in Delhi.
Three accused have been arrested, while the fourth is absconding.

According to the complaint filed by the girl’s father – a clerk in a private firm – the Class 9 student was called by one of the accused, Karan, to a temple near her house on July 27. “The accused dropped her on the main road near her house and threatened her with dire consequences if she told anything about the attack on her. However, the girl trusted her parents and told what had happened. Thereafter the family approached the police,” the complaint said.
This was reportedly followed by an episode of struggle to persuade the police to register a complaint.
A member of the girl’s family claimed that a policeman from the local police station tried to persuade them to drop the name of one of the accused from the complaint.
“It is unfortunate how the police treated us when we approached them. He tore our complaint twice and cleared us several times. Later, we approached some senior officials, who helped us in registering the FIR,” said the girl’s relative.
Indirapuram circle officer Abhay Kumar Mishra said the girl’s medical examination was done, but the report is awaited. “An FIR has been registered against the four accused under IPC sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 363 (kidnapping), 376 (rape) and relevant provisions of the POCSO Act, he said.
When asked about the allegations that the police delayed in registering the complaint, Mishra said, “We had called the family to the police station to record their statement, but they have not come yet. Preliminary findings do not indicate any deficiency in police behavior. However, an investigation is underway and appropriate action will be taken against whoever is found guilty.” On the absconding fourth accused, Mishra said, “Police teams have been formed. He will be nabbed soon.”
