In the results of the Punjab Assembly elections, this time 13 candidates working in the medical field have won. In this, from MBBS to Dental Surgeon, they have shown their mettle. The winning candidates include 2 eye surgeons, 3 MS and 3 MD degree holders. There is one Graduate in Eastern Medicine and Surgery and one Diploma holder in Pharmacy.

Most of the AAP, the veterans got dust

Aam Aadmi Party has the highest number of 10 people associated with the medical field who won the election. There is one from Congress, one from Akali Dal and one from Bahujan Samaj Party. The winning doctors have rubbed off the heavyweights of the politics of the state. Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi was defeated by Dr. Charanjit Singh of Aam Aadmi Party from Chamkaur Sahib seat. On the other hand, Dr. Ajay Gupta won the Amritsar Central seat by defeating Deputy CM OP Soni. Dr. Jasbir Singh Sandhu defeated Minister Rajkumar Verka in Amritsar West seat.

Dr. Sukhwinder Singh Sukhi, who contested the Banga seat on Shiromani Akali Dal ticket, is MS (ENT) by profession. He defeated his nearest rival Tirlochan Sundh of INC by a margin of 5,069 votes.

Dr Rajkumar Chabbewal contested from Chabbewal seat on Congress ticket. Rajkumar is an MD (RD) by profession. He defeated Harminder Singh of Aam Aadmi Party by 7,646 votes.

Dr. Kashmir Singh Sohal of Aam Aadmi Party defeated Harmeet Sandhu of Shiromani Akali Dal by 13,588 votes from Tarn Taran seat. Sohal is MS (ENT) by profession.

Dr. Ravjot Singh won the election from Sham Chaurasi seat as a candidate of Aam Aadmi Party. He defeated Pawan Adiya of INC by 21,356 votes. Ravjot is an MD (Med) by profession.

Outgoing Congress Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi lost the election from Chamkaur Sahib, the hot seat of Punjab. He was defeated by Dr. Charanjit Singh of Aam Aadmi Party by 7942 votes. Dr Charanjit is MS (Eye) by profession.

Dr Inderbir Nijjar of Aam Aadmi Party defeated Talbir Singh of Shiromani Akali Dal by 27,503 votes from Amritsar South seat. Dr. Nijjar is MD (RD) by profession.

Dr. Jagbir Singh Sandhu, a Bachelor of Eastern Medicine and Surgery passed from Govind Ballabh Pant Agricultural and Technological University, contested the election on Aam Aadmi Party ticket. He defeated Rajkumar Verka of INC by 43,913 votes.

Dr. Ajay Gupta, who contested the Amritsar Central seat on Aam Aadmi Party ticket, is an MBBS passer. Dr. Ajay Gupta defeated OP Soni of Congress by a margin of 14,026.

Dr. Vijay Singla, who contested on Congress ticket from Mansa seat, defeated Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala by 63,323 votes. Singla, who contested the election on Aam Aadmi Party ticket, is a dentist by profession.

Eye Surgeon Dr. Baljit Kaur contested from Malout seat as a candidate of Aam Aadmi Party. He defeated Shiromani Akali Dal candidate Harpreet Singh by 40,261 votes.

In Moga seat, Malvika Sood, sister of film actor Sonu Sood, was defeated by Dr. Amandeep Arora of Aam Aadmi Party by a margin of 20,915 votes. According to the affidavit given to the Election Commission, Amandeep has passed MBBS from Ukraine.

Dr. Balbir Singh of Aam Aadmi Party, who won the election from Patiala Rural seat, is an Eye Surgeon by profession. He defeated Mohit Mohindra, son of Brahm Mohindra, who was a minister in the Congress government, by 53,474 votes.

At the same time, Dr. Nachhatar Pal, who won the election from Nawanshahr seat, is also associated with the medical field. Nachhatar Pal has passed Diploma in Pharmacy. He contested on a BSP ticket and defeated Lalit Mohan of AAP by a margin of 5,376.
