11 year old Nagpur girl beat Einstein to score 162 on Mensa. Nagpur News – Times of India

Nagpur: On a windy day in Scotland last month, 11-year-old Rucha Chandorkar learned that she is now part of an elite group – the top 1% intelligent people on the planet. With a Mensa IQ score of 162 – the highest possible – Rucha also earned bragging rights on her older brother Akhilesh, who scored 160 runs in the same Test in 2016.
It is widely believed that Albert Einstein’s IQ was 160.
At that time, Chandorkar was living in Nagpur and TOI reported about Akhilesh’s achievement. In 2019, the family moved back to Scotland, where parents Rutvik and Sonali had spent a good part of their professional careers.
While other youngsters have cracked Mensa before, there are no reports of Indian-origin siblings scoring such exceptionally high marks.
Although thousands of IQ testing platforms are now available with different scoring ranges, Mensa’s IQ Score is the undisputed leader among them.
For Rucha, the whole Mensa thing started in 2016. “Bhaiya scored 160 runs in Mensa and he participated in a lot of interviews with the media, so I used to think that when I turn 11, I will also appear for the exam,” said. Interested.
The results declared in the last week of September were definitely shocking. Rucha said, “I was expecting 130 and was expecting more. But when I saw 162, I was overjoyed.”
With a two-point bonus on her brother’s score, Rucha is sure she won’t be the younger sister who can be pushed around now. “Yeah, I’ll keep rubbing it, I guess,” laughs Rucha.
Akhilesh said, ‘Yes, he has started doing this. So from time to time she would say ‘hey, I’m smarter than you’. But I remind him that I have five more years of experience.
Rutvik and Sonali, both from IT backgrounds, there was no doubt that Rucha was a gifted child. “We were able to pick up on these cues because she was doing things that were way beyond her age. Solving riddles, solving riddles for academics, Rucha always displayed a brilliant streak,” said Sonali.
“He has always looked up to Akhilesh as a role model, so it was only natural that he also attempted the Mensa test,” said Rutvik.
Rucha is very interested in illustration and drawing and hopes to explore it as a career. Akhilesh is interested in mathematics and physics, with a special focus on space exploration.
