New Delhi: India has registered a surge in coronavirus cases as the country recorded over 10,000 cases on Friday. India has registered 10,549 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours. In the last 24 hours, 488 deaths and 9,868 have been cured due to Kovid in the country.
Informed the Union Health Ministry that the active caseload now stands at 1,10,133.
The daily increase in new coronavirus infections has been below 20,000 for 49 straight days and less than 50,000 daily new cases have been reported for 152 consecutive days.
The health ministry said active cases comprise 0.32 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 98.33 per cent.
An increase of 193 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a 24-hour period.
Recording a spike in Covid cases, Kerala on Thursday recorded 5,987 fresh COVID-19 infections and 384 fatalities. The total caseload of the state now stands at 51,08,112.
According to a PTI report, with 5,094 more people recovering from the virus since Tuesday, the total recoveries reached 50,28,752 and the active cases reached 51,804.
