Broadly speaking, Sawhney was accused of “targeted acts of bullying against certain individuals”. [ICC] employees”; “physical aggression, such as fist-banging”; and “through direct and indirect impact on the health and well-being of individuals” [his] behavior”.

The fourth charge against Sawhney is that he “did not report properly”. [ICC Executive] have implemented decisions or changes without due consultation with the Board and the Board”.

Sawhney was appointed the CEO of ICC in January 2019.

Sawhney ‘camp’ wants to know the role of the chairman of the England and Wales Cricket Board, Ian Whatmore, who played a role in involving PwC for the Culture Review, and whether the entire ICC Board was consulted before hiring PwC was, or the scope of the review was shown. .

Those supporting Sawhney also claimed that some members of the ICC board, including Women’s Independent Director Indra Nooyi, had expressed “concerns” about the Culture Review.

The second allegation is that the PwC report, on the basis of which Sahni was suspended, was not seen by all who should have got copies of it. Sawhney claimed that he was reluctantly given the report as well.

Sahni wrote in a lengthy statement accessed by IANS, “After repeated requests, I have been provided with a copy of the final report issued by PwC on March 15, 2021, seven days after I was suspended on March 9, 2021 “

Supporters of Sawhney alleged that PwC was contracted for $200,000.

“It is perfectly clear to me, as would be to any reasonable person or bystander, that I am the victim of a premeditated witch-hunt. The whole pretense of starting a fair process or giving me a fair trial is completely has been abandoned,” wrote Sawhney.

IANS referred questions raised by Sahni’s supporters to the ICC. An ICC executive said: “The issue is still ongoing and it would be inappropriate to make any comment as such.”

However, an ICC source defended the action taken against Sawhney.

“I can confirm the whole process and SCOPE was approved by the board and Mr. Whatmore led the project after PwC joined. You should also note that PwC is a very large organization and Mr. Whatmore K’s relatives work in a completely different division and this was noted to the board (along with another board member) and no conflict was contemplated,” the source said.

Another source said that the verdict in the Sahni case may come at the earliest. “Also, please note that the PwC claims that 95 per cent of the people contacted in the ICC spoke out against Sawhney. It can’t be right – that’s all I can say at this stage.”
