Gaya: A woman was killed, while four others, including a four-year-old child, were seriously injured when the roof of a government school building collapsed in Barki Dubba village of the district. Fatehpur Block Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Renu Devi, 45.

Renu Devi (45) was among the women injured. Sanfil Devi (50), Meena Devi (48), Sanju Devi (40) and four-year-old Karthik Kumar. While Renu succumbed to her injuries, the other three women were taken to the Community Health Center (CHC), Fatehpur by the local villagers. After first aid, the doctors of CHC referred the injured to ANMMCH.
On getting information about the incident, District Magistrate Thiagarajan SM issued instructions to the superintendent of ANMMCH to ensure proper arrangements for the treatment of the injured.
The DM asked Gaya Sadar SDO, Fatehpur BDO, CO and SHO to immediately visit the spot and take stock of the situation. He also asked the CO to give a compensation of Rs 4 lakh each to the relatives of the deceased Renu.
