A major accident took place on Thursday again in Garhshankar, sub-division of Hoshiarpur in Punjab. Sangat, who was going to pay obeisance on the occasion of Baisakhi at Khuralgarh Sahib, the holy place of Sri Guru Ravidas ji, was run over by an uncontrollable truck. 8 people died in the accident. Out of these, 4 died on the spot and 4 died in Civil Hospital Garhshankar.
The deceased have been identified as Rahul s/o Mah Pal (25), Sudesh Pal s/o Ramphal (48), Ramo s/o Sheesh Pal (15), Geeta Devi s/o Pushpinder Kumar (40), Unnati s/o Pushpinder Kumar (16), Shamo Devi and Santosh Devi etc. All the deceased were residents of Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh. All of them were recently living in Jagdalpur Bhadson (Chhattisgarh). In this accident, 5 people of a family are being told.

Around 13 passengers were injured in the incident. All the injured have been taken to Civil Hospital Garhshankar with the help of people. Where the condition of 5 is serious, they have been referred to PGI Chandigarh. According to the information, Sangat was going to Khuralgarh on foot late at night. Meanwhile, a truck going towards Khuralgarh suddenly went out of control and crushed the devotees.
Devotees who became victims of the accident are from Uttar Pradesh
The Chief Sevadar of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji’s Taposthali told that the deceased devotees are residents of Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh. All of them were walking and died after coming under a truck. Devotees were coming to pay obeisance at Khuralgarh Sahib, the holy place of Guru Ravidas ji, on the occasion of Baisakhi.
Police recording the statements of the injured admitted in the hospital.
