In Himachal, water has entered the power house of the 126 MW Larji power project following a spate in the Beas river. This has created a stir among the employees working in the project. There is a black out in the Larji project. The power has been disconnected in the project due to security reasons.

According to the information, to stop the flow of water in Beas river, one to one and a half meter high barricading was done at the gate of Larji. However, the flood water broke it and entered inside the power house. After this, power generation in the project has been stopped.

The concern is that the board management is not even able to contact the officials working in Larji over the phone. However, in a video, all the employees are seen running from the power house towards the control room.

Damage to the turbine and other machinery of the project has also been reported due to silt. Water entering the rotor part of the project may delay resumption of power generation here.

All power houses stalled in Himachal
Apart from Larji, power generation has come to a standstill in all other small and big projects in the state. Production has been stopped due to all the rivers and drains being in spate and getting silt. Due to this Himachal has become dependent on the electricity of the neighboring states.
