Snowfall occurred on the mountains of Kullu and Chamba on Monday morning. In both the districts, low-lying areas also received heavy rains, due to which life was thrown out of gear.

Due to rain in the low-lying areas of Kullu, people had to face a lot of difficulties in doing their work. Due to the rain, the roads of Kullu city have become ponds, due to which there is a problem in the movement of vehicles. At the same time, due to the increase in the outbreak of cold, people are allowed to hide in their homes.

Along with the high peaks of district Kullu, snow is also falling on the Mall Road in the tourist town of Manali. There is heavy snowfall in the surrounding areas including Nehru Kund, Solang Nala, Palchan, Kothi, Dhundhi, Rohtang Pass, at both ends of the Atal Tunnel. About 1 feet of snow has accumulated at both ends of the Atal Tunnel, while more than 1 feet of snowfall is expected in Rohtang Pass.

In Chamba district too, the weather changed on Monday. Heavy snowfall lashed Bharmour and Pangi Valley since morning, disrupting normal life. There has been 2 to 2.5 feet of fresh snow again on the higher peaks of Bharmour. Tehsil headquarters Bharmour and Holi have also received 4 to 6 inches of fresh snowfall. Due to this, the mountains of the valley have once again become covered with snow. Due to increasing cold, people are once again forced to hide in their homes.

Kullu administration issued alert
District Kullu and Lahaul Spiti administration has issued an alert due to snowfall on the hills. The administration has appealed to the tourists and general public not to go towards the snowy areas. Here, in view of the snowfall, the movement of normal vehicles has also been banned from Atal Tunnel.

Many villages in Chamba are cut off from the city
Due to the fresh snowfall since morning, about 15 Panchayats including Panchayat Kugti, Urna, Kavarsi, Bajol, Gronda, Nayagram of Chamba have once again been cut off from the Tehsil Headquarters. The administration has asked all departments to be on alert. The administration has given orders to the officer to keep all the basic facilities including electricity, water and health smooth at the panchayats which have snowfall. The temperature had increased in Bharmour, but due to snowfall since morning, the temperature here has again gone below 0.
