The weather in May has already broken several records. The May rains in Shimla have broken the record of 36 years. Shimla received 177.4 mm of rainfall in May this year. Earlier in the year 1987, there was 250.3 mm of rain. On the other hand, for the first time in May, the lowest minimum temperature of 8.4 degree Celsius was recorded in Dharamshala. Often people used to yearn for rain in summer, but this time people are yearning for sunshine on the mountains.

In the high altitude areas, it has come to the extent of lighting a bonfire to avoid the cold. Due to unseasonal rain-snowfall and hailstorm, the temperature of most of the cities of the state has dropped from normal to 15 degree Celsius. The temperature of Mandi city has decreased the most by 15 degrees and the temperature here has dropped to 20.0 degrees.

Disaster rains for farmers and gardeners

The unseasonal rains in the state are proving to be a disaster for the farmers and horticulturists. Bad weather has already reduced the apple crop by half. Now the color and shape of the apple is also being affected by this. Scab disease is flourishing due to excess moisture in the gardens.

Maximum 21 mm of rain in Nadaun

During the last 24 hours in the state, maximum rainfall of 21 mm was received in Nadaun. 20 mm in Bangana, 15 mm in Dalhousie, 14 mm in Sujanpur Tehra and Guled, 13 mm in Rohru, 11 mm in Bhoranj and Pandoh, 10 mm in Rampur and Solan, 9 mm in Khadrada and Nagrota Suriyan, 6 in Sarahan Kumarsain and Theog. mm of rain was recorded.
