Due to fog in Shimla and Solan districts, visibility may also drop to 50 metres. According to the Meteorological Department, there may be heavy to very heavy rains at some places in Una, Kangra, Chamba, Bilaspur, Mandi, Shimla, Solan, Sirmaur and Hamirpur districts. That’s why orange alert has been given in these districts.

Actually, Orange Alert is given on the forecast of 115.6 mm to 204 mm of rain within 24 hours and Yellow Alert is given on the forecast of 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm of rain. After heavy rains today, the water level in the rivers and drains may rise suddenly. That’s why local people and tourists have been advised not to go to river-drains and landslide prone areas.

46 mm of rain in Shimla

Heavy rainfall has occurred in Shimla and Sirmaur districts during the last 24 hours. Shimla has recorded 46 mm of rain in a few hours. Due to this, water also entered many houses. Roads have been blocked due to incidents of land slides at various places. Due to this, many houses have also been threatened.

According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature will decrease by two to three degrees during the next two to three days. The maximum temperature of the state has dropped 2.4 degrees below the average. Shimla recorded maximum temperature of 22.8 degrees, Una 33.2 degrees, Nahan 26.7 degrees, Solan 27.4 degrees, Manali 22.8 degrees, Kangra 31.3 degrees, Bilaspur 32 degrees and Hamirpur 32.4 degrees.
