IAS officer Dharmendra Singh, who was Additional Commissioner in the Municipal Corporation of Faridabad, Haryana, has been arrested by the SIT from his house in Gurugram. His name came up in the corruption case of Rs 1.11 crore in the corporation. At present, IAS Dharmendra Singh is also holding the charge of Additional Resident Commissioner of Haryana Bhavan along with Sonepat Municipal Corporation Commissioner.
FIR was registered in June 2022
Lalit Mittal, owner of New Delhi resident M/s Harchand Das Gupta Construction Company, lodged an FIR in June 2022 at Faridabad Kotwali police station for usurping Rs 1.11 crore. This money was taken by Pankaj Garg, RB Sharma, JK Bhatia in exchange for getting a government contract. He was told to get a contract in Faridabad Municipal Corporation. For that, the accused also cited the setting up of the officers. Also told that the given money has been given to the officials. Lalit Mittal did not get any kind of contract, so he lodged a complaint.
The role of the IAS officer came to the fore
In this entire case, after the FIR was registered in the Kotwali police station, the higher police officers constituted the SIT under the leadership of ACP Vishnu Prasad. Taking action, the SIT arrested Dharmendra Singh from his Gurugram home late last night.
At the time when this matter came to light, Dharmendra Singh was the Additional Commissioner in the Municipal Corporation. Dharmendra Singh is currently holding the post of Additional Resident Commissioner of Haryana Bhawan along with Sonepat Municipal Corporation Commissioner.
