In Haryana, 13 districts are affected by the floods. The Ghaggar river breached at four places in Sirsa on Sunday. Small dams have been breached between Mirpur, Khairekan, Panihari and Burjakarmgarh and near Nejadla Kalan. After which the water of Ghaggar river broke the ring dam and reached the bank of the main dam.

Due to rising water level of Ghaggar, the villagers are worried about their fields and houses. That’s why people are worshiping by coming to its banks to keep the Ghaggar river calm.

Ambala, Fatehabad, Faridabad, Panchkula, Jhajjar, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Kaithal, Panipat, Sonipat, Palwal, Sirsa and Yamunanagar are in the grip of floods in the state. Water of Ghaggar and Yamuna river has entered 403 villages of these districts. Due to this, 133 kutcha-pucca houses have collapsed. 26 people have died so far, two people are missing.

After this tragedy, once again the monsoon is preparing to be active in the state. The Chandigarh Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility that light to moderate rains are expected in all the districts of Haryana today, and heavy at some places.

Flood in Jakhal Mandi
The flood in Fatehabad district has also hit Jakhal Mandi. Late night water entered the godowns of Hafed in Jakhal Mandi. Along with this, water was also filled on 40 foot road. Rangoi drain has now spread panic in Fatehabad city and nearby dhanis.

In the weather forecast issued by the IMD till July 19, light to moderate rain is expected in most of the districts of the state. On July 17, a warning of heavy rain has also been issued in 7 districts of North Haryana. Yellow alert has been kept in Haryana for 5 days.

IMD Chandigarh said that there will be no change in the maximum temperature for the next five days. There is a possibility of thunder and lightning in almost all the districts of the state.

According to the forecast issued by IMD, there is a possibility of rain in 25 to 50 percent areas of Panchkula, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Mewat and Palwal today. Drizzle is possible at few places in other districts of the state. On July 17, the scope of rain will increase slightly.

Haryana Home and Health Minister Anil Vij said that a total of 703 medical camps have been organized so far by the Health Department for the flood affected areas, in which 12680 people were tested. Similarly, fogging was done in 28 villages and wards and 10363 ORS packets were distributed. Vij said that people are being made aware about the prevention of water borne diseases and vector borne diseases by these teams.

Vij informed that 328 teams visited 416 flood-affected villages in the state. He informed that 340 medical camps were organized. In which 7833 people were checked up. Similarly, fogging was done in 18 villages and wards and 5715 ORS packets were distributed. He said that reports of three deaths have been received in villages and wards on Saturday.

He said that so far 1312 cases of fever, 202 of gastroenteritis, 27 of dysentery, 16 of snake bite, 53 of eye related, 1247 of skin diseases and 4857 other cases have been reported. Similarly, 6 cases of enteric fever have been reported so far.
