Four years of the Gehlot government have been completed. Less than a year is left for the assembly elections. Bhaskar has prepared a marksheet of the government on the promises on the basis of which the Congress came to power in 2018.

Although the Congress had made 501 promises to come to the government, but on the basis of the implementation of 15 major announcements related to the general public, when we prepared the marksheet, broadly these three points came to the fore…

  • Out of these 15 announcements, 12 are incomplete, that is, work has started on them, but people have not yet got the full benefit.
  • On the basis of these announcements, make the marksheet of the government, then somehow the government is passing from the first division.
  • Gehlot government has got distinction in only three announcements

First read the government’s marksheet…

Because of these 2 reasons these promises can no longer be fulfilled

  1. Now even though there are 11 months left in front of the government to say, but in reality, there are hardly 6 months to work. In the last 6 months of the tenure, even the bureaucracy starts hesitating in taking major decisions. In such a situation only routine work is done.
  2. One of the major reasons for not taking major decisions in the last 6 months is that as soon as the new government comes, it first investigates the work done by the previous government in the last 6 months. The tradition of getting works investigated has been made since the time of the last few governments.

Bhaskar conducted a survey in 33 districts regarding the functioning of the Rajasthan government. Four questions were asked in it-
– Are you happy with the work of the government?
– In the last one year, the work of the government was seen more or mutual disputes?
Which was the most effective scheme of the government?
In which thing has the government failed the most?

Three announcements apart from the manifesto, on which Gehlot’s hopes rested
Ops : In March 2022, the old pension scheme was implemented for government employees in the state. This announcement created a stir in the whole country and became a big political issue. Central agencies are opposing it. Out of 7.5 lakh employees in the state, only 1.5 lakh were getting the benefit of Old Pension Scheme (OPS).

The BJP-led NDA had abolished OPS in the country by introducing a bill in the Parliament and implemented NPS (New Pension Scheme), which was share market base. Now the Rajasthan government has brought all the employees under the ambit of pension by implementing OPS.

The Chief Minister implemented this announcement to get full mileage in the next election. There is a deficit economy in the state, but the big question is where will the Rs 41,000 crore for this scheme come from.

Urban MGNREGA : Chief Minister Gehlot had announced in the 2022 budget to implement the biggest NREGA scheme of the Congress-led UPA government in the city. It has also been implemented, but the craze like rural MNREGA is not visible. It has been only a few months since the scheme was launched, so far job cards of 3 lakh 50 thousand people have been made, in which they are being guaranteed employment for 100 days.

For this, he gets Rs 259-333 as daily wage. The workers in the cities get double the money, that’s why it has not been successful. Rahul Gandhi himself has said that there are some shortcomings in this scheme.

free electricity : The government could not provide electricity for 24 hours in the whole of Rajasthan, but to fulfill this deficiency, Chief Minister Gehlot started the scheme of free electricity. Under this scheme started in 2022, every consumer is getting 50 units of electricity free in a month.

Domestic consumers are getting benefit of Rs 280 to 780 every month from this scheme. In Rajasthan, about 1.18 crore domestic consumers of Jaipur, Jodhpur and Ajmer discoms are being given this benefit. This includes all three types of BPL, small domestic and general domestic consumers.

Looking at this marksheet, it is understood that the entire image of the Rajasthan government rests on only three schemes. Chiranjeevi scheme with cashless treatment up to Rs 10 lakh in private and government hospitals, free accident insurance up to Rs 5 lakh for the family associated with this scheme and 709 types of free medicines in government hospitals are running in Rajasthan. .

Good response is being seen in Rajasthan for these schemes. After the implementation of Chiranjeevi Yojana, 27 lakh 60 thousand people have got its benefit. The government has spent Rs 3 thousand 195 crore in this.

For this reason, in the last year of the tenure, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot to Rahul Gandhi in Bharat Jodo Yatra, Chiranjeevi scheme, accident insurance scheme and free medicine scheme, are patting their government’s back and in view of the next election, complete branding is being done. Has been
