A tractor-trolley fell down from the bridge on Tilhar Nigohi Road in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh on Saturday. 15 people are reported to have died in the accident. The DM of the district has confirmed the death of 13 people. The dead included women, children and men. It is being told that there were 20 to 25 people in the trolley. The tractor-trolley fell into the river breaking the railing from the Rata bridge.
Police along with the local people have reached the spot. SP Rural Sanjeev Kumar Vajpayee told that the people injured in the accident are being sent to the hospital. It is told that the people of Sanaura village were going to collect water for Bhagwat Katha in the village. The tractor broke the railing of the bridge and fell down along with the trolley.
According to SP S Anand, more than 10 people were injured in the accident. SDRF and NDRF teams have reached the spot. The injured have been sent to the nearest CHC. The district hospital has also been alerted. The seriously injured are being sent to the district hospital. Most of the dead include women and children.
