विपक्षी पार्टियों ने की जम्मू-कश्मीर को राज्य बनाने की मांग: इलेक्शन कमीशन से जल्द चुनाव कराने को कहा; मई में श्रीनगर जाएंगे विपक्षी नेता

Opposition parties are protesting unitedly against the government during the budget session of Parliament.

Opposition parties in Delhi have demanded to make Jammu and Kashmir a state again and hold elections immediately. The parties have decided that they will go to Srinagar in May to support the people of Kashmir.

A delegation of political parties from Jammu and Kashmir met leaders of opposition parties at the Constitution Club in Delhi. Leaders of several parties including Congress, Samajwadi Party, Aam Aadmi Party, DMK, NCP, TMC, CPIM, and RJD were present in this meeting.

Sharad Pawar – Will go to Srinagar and share the sorrows of the people
Sharad Pawar said that leaders of all opposition parties will go to Jammu and Kashmir to share the sorrow of the people and assure them that we are with them.

Through this meeting, the parties of Jammu and Kashmir have for the first time tried to garner support from the opposition parties for their demand for statehood and elections.

After the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, all the local parties there came together.

Parties also met with the Election Commission
After the meeting, the delegation of J&K parties also went to meet the Election Commission. There he gave a memorandum demanding that elections be held. Farooq Abdullah said that the Election Commission has assured him that necessary steps will be taken to conduct the elections.

Farooq Abdullah said that all parties want elections and there is no reason to postpone the elections. Farooq asked that PM Modi and Amit Shah say that everything is normal in J&K, there will also be a meeting of G-20 countries, then why elections have not been held till now.

The plan was made on March 11
On March 11, all the opposition parties of Jammu and Kashmir gathered at Farooq Abdullah’s house and decided to meet the Election Commission. The delegation of J&K parties includes leaders of several parties including Congress, National Panthers Party, Awami National Conference, National Conference and PDP.

Omar Abdullah said that the notion that people in Jammu are happy with the BJP is also wrong.

BJP will lose if elections are held: Omar Abdullah
Farooq Abdullah’s son Omar Abdullah also gave a statement regarding the election today. He said that elections have been held in Tripura and Nagaland. Will be in Karnataka next month as well. When elections can be held there then why can’t they be held in Jammu and Kashmir. The BJP is afraid of holding elections because it knows they will lose because of the ill-treatment meted out to the people.

Election likely to be held this year
The delimitation of assembly seats in Jammu and Kashmir has been completed. In such a situation, there is a possibility of assembly elections being held there this year itself.

There is no elected government in Jammu and Kashmir for the last 5 years. The last elections in J&K were held in 2014. Then the BJP formed a government there with Mehbooba Mufti’s PDP. In 2018, the BJP withdrew support to the government. After this President’s rule was imposed in the state.

In August 2019, the central government abrogated Article 370 and declared Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh as union territories.

Last month, the Supreme Court dismissed a petition challenging the delimitation of Assembly-Lok Sabha constituencies in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
