Several cases were registered against Yasin related to funding terrorist attacks in Kashmir with the support of Pakistan and providing arms to terrorists.

Delhi High Court to hear today a petition seeking death sentence to Kashmiri separatist leader Yasin Malik. Yasin is currently serving a life sentence. NIA has demanded the death penalty.

In 2022, the NIA court sentenced Yasin to life imprisonment on charges of UAPA and waging war against the country. Yasin had also confessed his crime in this case. A bench of Justices Siddharth Mridul and Yashwant Singh will hear the matter today at 10:30 am.

Yasin used to fund terrorist attacks in Kashmir
Kashmir’s separatist leader Yasin Malik was sentenced to life imprisonment by the NIA court in the terror funding case. Yasin has been punished under several sections. Life imprisonment in two cases and 10 years in other cases. All the sentences will run concurrently. Several cases were registered against Yasin related to funding terrorist attacks in Kashmir with the support of Pakistan and providing arms to terrorists.

Attack on Air Force personnel in Srinagar
Malik is accused of attacking Air Force personnel in Srinagar on January 25, 1990. In this incident, 40 people were injured, while four soldiers were martyred. Squadron Leader Ravi Khanna was one of them. All of them were waiting for the vehicle to go to the airport, when the terrorists attacked them. Malik had also mentioned this in the interview given to the media.

Accused of killing Kashmiri Pandits
Along with this, there are also allegations of having links with Pakistani terrorists. Along with this, there have also been allegations of kidnapping of Rubia Sayeed, daughter of former Jammu and Kashmir CM Mufti Mohammad Sayeed. Yasin also played an important role in killing Kashmiri Pandits in 1990 and forcing them to leave the valley.

Yasin Malik is a separatist leader and is associated with the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF). He has always been active in Kashmir politics. He is accused of inciting the youth and motivating them to take up guns in their hands.
