Jiya Kushwaha, a resident of Sehore, also boarded the train that day. Jiya says, ‘We were going to Bolai Baba’s place. There was a lot of crowd in the train. There was not even a place to sit in the train. We barely found a place to sit on the top seat. I just stood down.

Suddenly something like a tiffin bomb exploded. Where I was standing, the blast happened right above me. Meanwhile, there was chaos. My finger was cut and hanged. The hair was also blown away. The eardrums burst. There were shrapnel all over the body. Nothing was visible. There was smoke in the train.

It took me about 3 months to recover. I was 26 years old at the time of the accident. My 6 year old son was saved from dying. During that time I was pregnant. I also had a miscarriage. Old grandfather’s leg was damaged. The train was torn from above by the explosion. There was also the fear that the train might get derailed.

No one was able to understand anything. The horror is still remembered today, my finger is disfigured forever, there were 6 pieces from inside the bone. Received 25 thousand rupees as assistance from the government. Terrorists should be punished severely.

4 people jumped from the train and ran away… then the explosions started.

Before we could understand anything, smoke started coming out of the coach. The train stopped after going about 250 feet. Passengers jumped from the train and started running in the fields, then there was a sound of explosion in the coach. When I saw outside, an elderly passenger covered in blood was suffering. A little distance away, a baby girl was suffering from blood-soaked pain. There was a hole in his chest.

There was hue and cry at the spot. Our family was in panic. We could not sleep until the accused were caught. Even today we shudder remembering that scene.
