As far as the Congress is concerned, it has not officially said anything about it, but one of its leaders, Sandeep Dixit, says that Kejriwal was looking for an excuse not to attend the meeting, and indeed he found it. Went. Dixit said- Kejriwal must have actually received orders from above not to attend the meeting, as he has always been ordered to actively participate in state elections.

On Thursday, Mamta Banerjee reached Lalu Yadav’s house in Patna to meet him. He took Lalu’s blessings by touching his feet.

However, this time all non-BJP parties are coming in this meeting which is going to be held for opposition unity. The names of people from Telangana and Orissa have not yet appeared in the visitors list. It is a different matter if it is revealed on the day of the meeting. Many leaders including West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee have reached Patna a day before. Congress leaders will come on 23rd June. Nitish Kumar is organizing this meeting.

The purpose of this meeting is to field a candidate of the opposition against the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections so that division of votes can be avoided. If this becomes possible, it will be a big deal for the opposition and a big dilemma for the BJP. There is a simple math behind the opposition fielding a common candidate.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann also visited the Patna Sahib Gurdwara on Thursday.

In fact, be it Lok Sabha elections or assembly elections, there are very few winning candidates who get more than fifty percent of the total votes. What happens is that when more candidates are in the fray, the total number of votes obtained by all of them may be more, but the one who gets more votes than the nearest rival wins.

For example, there are four candidates in the fray. Out of these, three get thirty thousand votes each and one gets forty thousand. Out of these, the one who gets forty thousand votes wins, but the votes against him or those who do not like him are ninety thousand. The sum of the votes polled by those three candidates. Still, the one who gets less than half of the total votes cast in opposition is declared victorious.

CPI General Secretary D. Raja also reached Patna to attend the meeting, where he was welcomed by the workers.

In such a situation, there will be only one candidate in the opposition, then the victory will be his, this is the math of the opposition. If a common candidate is agreed upon, it will prove to be a major victory for opposition unity. Though the issue of seat sharing is the most tricky one, but if you climb the first step, then even the confusion of seat sharing will be overcome, Nitish Kumar believes.

It remains to be seen to what extent the BJP succeeds in breaking this opposition unity and if the opposition succeeds in creating a political or electoral cycle, then how can the BJP get out by breaking it?
