The Army will have a uniform uniform for officers of the rank of Brigadier and above from August 1. This decision has been taken after discussions in a recent conference of army commanders. This decision will be applicable to all the officers irrespective of their cadre and whenever they have been appointed. At the same time, there has been no change in the uniform of officers of the rank of colonel and below.
According to news agency PTI, army sources said that under this decision, the caps, shoulder badges, gorget patches, belts and shoes of senior officers will be uniform. At the same time, flag rank officers will no longer wear any lanyard.
Why was this decision taken
An Army source said the decision has been taken to promote and strengthen a common identity and vision on service matters among the senior leadership, beyond regimental boundaries. This will further strengthen the character of the Indian Army to be a fair and just organization. Uniform uniform will give common identity to all senior rank officers.
Explain that in the Indian Army, brigadiers and above are officers who have already commanded a unit or battalion. Most of these are posted in the headquarters. Where officers from all arms and services work together.
