1. Flood-like situation in Rajasthan’s Barmer, Sirohi and Jalore, houses filled with 4 to 5 feet of water
This video is from Barmer district of Rajasthan. More than 5 thousand people of Barmer were shifted to safer places amid flood like situation. At the same time, there is power failure in more than 500 villages for the last 24 hours.
Due to Biparjoy, heavy rains occurred in 8 districts of Rajasthan including Barmer, Jalore, Jodhpur. Sirohi received the maximum rainfall of 38 mm while Jalore received 36 mm of rain. During this, winds were blowing at a speed of 50 to 60 kmph. The Meteorological Department has issued Red Alert in 4 districts and Orange Alert in 5 districts today for heavy rains.
Due to incessant rains since 36 hours, there is a flood-like situation in Barmer-Sirohi and Jalore. Many houses were filled with water up to 4 to 5 feet. NDRF teams were deployed in the most affected areas. Here, the Railways canceled 14 trains passing through Barmer.
2. Case reached the High Court against Adipurush, accused of making fun of gods and goddesses on the film
In the Delhi High Court, the Hindu Sena has filed a petition against the film Adipurush, demanding its ban. Petitioner Vishnu Gupta has accused the film of insulting Hindu deities. He said that unlimited dialogues have been called from the characters of God.
Here, Nepal has expressed displeasure over Sita being described as India’s daughter in the film. Kathmandu Mayor Balendra Shah said that Sita was born in Janakpur, Nepal. In such a situation, the wrong facts should be removed from the film. However, BBC sources say that the Censor Board of Nepal has muted this scene.
3. Sakshi Malik claims- Congress has no hand in the movement, 2 BJP leaders got permission to protest
Sakshi and her husband Satyavrat Kadian on Saturday posted a video of themselves titled ‘The Truth’ on social media. He said that no Congress leader had a hand in the movement, rather two BJP leaders had given permission to protest.
Regarding the women wrestler movement, Sakshi Malik released a video and said that our fight is not with the government, but with Brij Bhushan. He said that no Congress leader is behind the movement. Also claimed that BJP leaders Babita Phogat and Tirth Rana had given permission to protest at Jantar Mantar.
He further said that 90 per cent of the people associated with wrestling knew that the wrestlers were being molested since 12 years. Many wanted to raise their voice against it, but there was a lack of unity among women wrestlers at that time.
4. In Manipur, mob tried to loot weapons from police station, attacked BJP office
Amidst the ongoing violence in Manipur since May 3, 5 major incidents took place on Friday. Mobs attacked BJP offices at two different places. At the same time, an attempt was made to set fire to the house of two BJP leaders. Apart from this, the mob tried to loot weapons from the police station in Imphal. But, the security forces foiled all these conspiracies.
Here, Intelligence has claimed that miscreants can incite violence by wearing uniforms of police and security forces. The intelligence agency says that a tailor in Bishnupur district was ordered to stitch 500 uniforms by June 15.
5. Stopped from giving exam in Burqa in Hyderabad, Minister said – Women should not wear short clothes
This case pertains to KV Ranga Reddy Degree College, Hyderabad. The girl students say that they were not given entry in the examination hall because of the burqa.
Burqa-clad girl students were prevented from appearing for exams in a college in Hyderabad. The girl students allege that they got entry in the examination hall only after removing the burqa. The college administration was saying that wearing burqa may be allowed in other colleges, but not in this college.
In this case, Telangana Home Minister Mohammad Mahmood said that some head master or principal might have done this, but our policy is secular. However, he further added that women should not wear short clothes and should cover themselves as much as possible.
