Here, CPI’s Rajya Sabha MP Binoy Vishwam has given notice to Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar under Rule 267 to suspend the work. In the notice, he demanded a discussion on the Adani stock crash. It is believed that the opposition may create a ruckus during the session.

A day earlier, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the general budget for the financial year 2023-24 in the House. After the presentation of the budget in the Lok Sabha, the Finance Bill 2023 was also introduced. Later, the Union Budget was tabled in the Rajya Sabha.

37 leaders of 27 parties were present in the all-party meeting

In Monday’s all-party meeting, Prahlad Joshi said that the government is ready to discuss all those issues which will be raised by the opposition under the rules.

Before this, an all-party meeting was held on Monday. 37 leaders of 27 parties were present in the meeting. Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi said that the meeting went well. We seek the cooperation of the opposition for better running of the house. We are ready to discuss all issues. He told that Congress and SP leaders were not present in the meeting. However, the Congress party had written a letter informing that they were stuck in Kashmir due to the weather, so their leader could not come. The party will be discussed separately on January 31.

The budget session will be held in two sessions
The first part of the budget session of Parliament began on January 31 and will continue till February 14. After this, there will be a holiday till March 12. The second part of the budget session will run from March 13 to April 6. In the second phase, the Finance Bill will be discussed in both the Houses of the Parliament, after which the Bill will be passed by both the Houses. There will be a total of 27 sittings in a total of 66 days (including holidays) from January 31 to April 6.

35 bills pending in parliament
According to the bulletin received from Lok Sabha-Rajya Sabha, there are a total of 35 bills pending in the Parliament. Of these, 9 bills are to be introduced in the Lok Sabha and 26 in the Rajya Sabha. Bills are less likely to be discussed and passed in the first phase of the session. However, several important bills can be introduced in the second phase of the session. Of the 26 bills pending in the Rajya Sabha, three have already been passed by the Lok Sabha. These include the Inter-State River Water Disputes (Amendment) Bill 2019, the Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order (Third Amendment) Bill 2022 and the Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order (Fifth Amendment) Bill 2022.

Budget session begins with President’s address

The President said- In 2 years, India has given more than 220 crore vaccine doses. More than 260 medical colleges have been opened from 2014 to 2022.

The session began on Tuesday with President Draupadi Murmu’s address to the joint sitting of both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha in the Central Hall.
