One of the most awaited annual events and the world’s largest book fair – this year is celebrating its 50 years of journey. The New Delhi World Book Fair, organized by the National Book Trust, India in association with ITPO, will be held from 25 February to 5 March 2023 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

With Festival of Independence as the theme of the fair and France as the guest country of the fair, this 9-day book fair will host a vast collection of books from a large number of Indian and foreign publishers in the newly constructed hall of Pragati Maidan.

Many programs will also be organized
Addressing the media, Shri Yuvraj Malik, Director, National Book Trust, India said that New Delhi World Book Fair 2023 will be the biggest festival of books and literature and this year G-20 Pavilion, NEP Pavilion, Ed-Tech Zone, Young Writers Various events will also be organized in the Theme Pavilion, Foreign Pavilion, Children’s Pavilion, Author’s Forum, Seminar Hall and Amphitheatre, along with new attractions such as the Forum. The festival of books will showcase the books, literature and culture of G-20 countries apart from other countries around the world. Several seminars, conferences, book releases, literary and cultural events as well as various events will be organized during the book fair.

French delegation will also be present
Sharing his views on the participation of France as the Guest of Honor country in the New Delhi World Book Fair, Mr. Emmanuel Lebrun-Damiens, Cultural Adviser, Embassy of France in India, said that France would like to celebrate 50 years of the New Delhi World Book Fair. He informed that apart from many French illustrators and publishers, a delegation of French writers led by Nobel laureate, France, Ms. Anne Ornau will also be present at the New Delhi World Book Fair. France is making efforts to translate French literature into Indian languages ​​and so far more than 40 French books have been translated into Indian languages.

Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Education Minister, Government of India, will inaugurate the fair on 25 February 2023.
