Landing of any fighter jet at night is very challenging

  • Landing fighter jets on any aircraft carrier at night is considered extremely challenging. Because the speed of an aircraft carrier is 40-50 kilometers per hour and the speed of a fighter jet is 250 kilometers per hour. In such a situation, the pilot has to manage the speed of the jet according to the speed of the carrier.
  • Landing a fighter jet on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier is many times more difficult than landing a fighter jet on a runway. This is because the flight deck is much smaller than the runway. At the time of landing on the flight deck, the pilot lowers the tail hook of the jet, which reduces the speed of the jet from 250 kmph to zero.

MiG-29K can fly at an altitude of 65,000 feet
The MiG-29K jets are part of the fighter fleet of INS Vikrant. The speed of this supersonic fighter jet is twice the speed of sound. It can pull eight times the weight of gravity and is capable of flying at an altitude of 65,000 feet.

INS Vikrant, the largest warship made in the country, 1600 crew, 30 aircraft can be deployed
INS Vikrant is built by Cochin Shipyard Limited ie CSL. It has been designed by the Warship Design Bureau, formerly known as the Directorate of Naval Design. It is the in-house design organization of the Indian Navy.

INS Vikrant weighing 45 thousand tonnes is the largest warship made in India. This is the second aircraft carrier of the country after INS Vikramaditya. Vikramaditya was built on the Russian platform.

With INS Vikrant, India has joined the very few countries in the world that are capable of designing and building an aircraft carrier. It has 250 fuel tankers and 2400 compartments. On this, 1600 crew members and 30 aircraft can be deployed at a time.
