The interim bail of Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera, who made controversial statements against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has been extended till Friday. Assam and Uttar Pradesh government had sought time from the court to file their reply. After which CJI Chandrachud has given time till March 3.

The CJI also said that the interim bail of Pawan Khera has also been extended till Friday. Significantly, 3 FIRs were registered on Pawan Kheda for his controversial statement on PM Modi in UP-Assam.

Assam Police arrested on 23 February
On February 23, while going from Delhi to Raipur for the party convention, the Assam Police arrested Khera after taking him off the flight. After this, on the petition of Abhishek Manu Singhvi, the Supreme Court had granted interim bail till February 28, giving relief to Kheda. That is, during this time he got exemption from police arrest. The court fixed the date of next hearing of the case for today. The next hearing of the matter will be on Friday, March 3.

3 FIRs on Kheda, court orders clubbing
All the three FIRs lodged against Pawan Kheda in UP’s Lucknow-Varanasi and Assam were ordered to be clubbed at one place. The court had also issued notices to UP and Assam for this. On February 23, following the directions of the Supreme Court, Delhi’s Dwarka court granted interim bail to Kheda on a bond of Rs 30,000. The verdict was pronounced on Assam Police’s demand for transit remand.

The Supreme Court had reprimanded – be careful with the statement

Now know the reason, due to which FIR was lodged against Pawan Kheda.
Pawan Khera had said on the Hindenburg Report in Delhi on February 20, ‘When Atal Bihari Vajpayee can form JPC, then what is the problem with Narendra Gautamdas Modi’. In his statement, he called Narendra Damodardas Modi as Gautamdas Modi.

After this he asked the people standing around whether it is Gautam Das or Damodardas. After this he said that even though the name is Damodar Das. His work is of Gautamdas. However, later he clarified that he was confused about the name of the Prime Minister.

Kheda said after bail – Arrested without notice
After getting interim bail, Pawan Kheda had said, ‘Assam police arrested me illegally. I was neither given any prior information nor received any notice regarding the arrest. I have full faith in the judiciary, which protected my freedom of speech today. The matter is in the court, so I will not comment.
