Four bike-borne miscreants looted Rs 2 lakh at gunpoint from a delivery agent on the morning of 24 June in Delhi’s Pragati Maidan tunnel.

In this case, the Delhi Police caught two suspects late on Monday night. The houses of the other accused are being raided to identify them.

This information was given by Special CP (Law and Order) Sagar Preet Hooda. Meanwhile, the Delhi Police did patrolling at midnight.

The video of the robbery that took place three days back surfaced on Monday. It can be seen in the video that 4 miscreants riding two bikes chase a car and stop it in the middle of the road in the tunnel.

Then a miscreant takes out a gun and stands in front of the car. The remaining three of his accomplices open the gate on both sides of the car and run away with a bag full of cash.

The victim was going to give cash to the client
According to media reports, the victim Sajan Kumar Patel works as a delivery agent at Omiya Enterprises, Chandni Chowk. On June 24, he left for Gurugram from Chandni Chowk with his partner Jigar Patel. He had a bag full of money. The bag was to be delivered to his client.

The two booked a cab from Red Fort and entered the Pragati Maidan tunnel on their way to Gurugram on the Ring Road. That’s why 4 miscreants riding on two bikes stopped the cab by showing pistol and ran away after looting the bag. After this, Sajan Kumar informed the police about the incident. He told the police that the bag contained around Rs 1.5 to 2 lakh cash.

16 security guards were deployed on the tunnel
Police said that this tunnel is about 1.5 kilometers long. 16 security guards guard the tunnel. This tunnel connects New Delhi to Sarai Kale Khan and Noida. At the time of the incident, two security guards were deployed at the entry and exit of the tunnel.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has sought the resignation of Lieutenant Governor (LG) Vinay Kumar Saxena over the incident. Kejriwal tweeted and wrote – LG should resign. Such a person should be made the Lieutenant Governor who can provide security to the people of Delhi.
