1. Majority for BJP in Tripura

86.10% polling in Tripura, 4% less than last election
86.10% voter turnout was recorded on 60 seats in Tripura assembly elections on 16 February. This was 4% less than the last election. In 2018, Tripura had 90% voter turnout in 59 seats. BJP emerged as the single largest party by winning 35 seats. With this, the BJP had demolished the 25-year stronghold of the Left. After the victory in the last election, the party made Biplab Dev the CM, but in May 2022, Manik Saha was made the Chief Minister. The party contested the elections under the leadership of Saha.

In the 2023 election, the BJP contested all 60, the Left-Congress alliance contested (47 and 13 seats, respectively). Tipra Motha Party contested on 42 seats. Thus, a triangular contest is expected in the state. In the 2018 elections, BJP got 35 seats, CPIM 16 and IPFT 7 seats. BJP formed the government.

2. NPP leading on maximum number of seats in Meghalaya

Meghalaya: 85.27% voting, 10% more than last election
In Meghalaya, polling was held on 59 out of 60 seats on February 27. 85.27% voting took place. Election to the Sohyeong seat was postponed due to the death of UDP candidate HDR Lyngdoh. In 2018, there was 67% voting. This time NPP has fielded candidates for 57, Congress and BJP for 60 each and TMC for 56 seats.

Elections were held on 59 seats in Meghalaya in 2018. The Congress had won the maximum 21 seats. BJP could get only 2 seats here. The National People’s Party (NPP) got 19 seats. It formed the government together with PDF and HSPDP. He formed the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA). Conrad Sangma of NPP is the Chief Minister.

3. BJP gets majority in Nagaland as well

85.90% voting in Nagaland
On February 27, 85.90% voting was held in 59 assembly seats out of 60 in 16 districts of Nagaland. This is 10% more than last year. In 2018, there was 75% voting here. Here on February 10, Congress candidate Khekashe Sumi withdrew his nomination from Akuluto assembly constituency, following which BJP candidate Kajeto Kinimi was elected unopposed. Nagaland is currently ruled by the National Democratic Progressive Party. Neiphiu Rio is the CM.

NDPP came into existence in 2017. The NDPP then won 18 seats and the BJP 12. The two parties had forged an alliance before the elections. The government consists of NDPP, BJP NPP and JDU.
