Electoral politics is heating up in Jammu and Kashmir. According to sources, elections can be held here till May. BJP General Secretary BL Santhosh recently held an important meeting and instructed the party cadre to come on the election mode. New equations can be created in the valley due to increasing closeness and possibility of alliance between BJP and Apni Party’s Altaf Bukhari. Seeing the BJP’s exercise, other parties have also started preparations. National Conference (NC), PDP and Congress are activating their respective leaders spread across the constituencies. Amidst the election buzz, the picture of coalition politics in the state is not clear at the moment. The leaders of both the parties are refraining from making statements on contesting the elections under a secret alliance between NC and PDP.

Congress: Rahul Gandhi’s visit will benefit the party in Kashmir

The Congress is looking upbeat with the arrival of Bharat Jodo Yatra in the state and the return of many leaders from Ghulam Nabi Azad’s party to the party. State President Rasool Wani says that the Bharat Jodo Yatra coming on January 20 will increase the base of the party.

National Conference: Describing the election as a right, refusing to boycott
