Houses of suspected people are being searched in Kulgam, Pulwama, Anantnag and Shopian. Police and CRPF personnel along with NIA are also involved in this operation. NIA has detained Sartaj Altaf Bhat, a journalist from Pulwama. He works for local news outlet Growing Kashmir.

The NIA has been conducting raids in Jammu and Kashmir for the last few days regarding the terrorist activities of the heads and members of banned terrorist organisations. These organizations were using cyber space to target minorities and security personnel and were trying to create unrest among communities.

An official source said that at the behest of Pakistani commanders and handlers, many banned terrorist organizations and their associated smaller organizations work to spread terror in the valley by keeping fake names. This raid is being done to expose this criminal conspiracy.
