Military exercise of India and America is going on near the China border in Auli, Uttarakhand. The special thing is that a Russian helicopter was used in this military exercise. Soldiers of both countries reached the Line of Actual Control (LAC) from Russia’s Mi-17V-5 helicopter.

The Mi-17V-5 is the world’s most advanced transport helicopter. It can also be deployed in troop and weapons transport, fire support, escort patrol and search-and-rescue (SAR) missions. Also the Mi-17V-5 is designed for cargo transport.

During the military exercise, Indian Army personnel displayed unarmed combat skills with the US Army.

The Mi-17V-5 is a twin engine multipurpose helicopter made in Russia. The Mi-17V-5 (domestic designation Mi-8MTV5) is a military transport variant of the Mi-8/17 family of helicopters. It is manufactured by Kazan Helicopters, a subsidiary of Russian Helicopters.

It is produced at the Russian company Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant, Kazan Helicopter Plant and Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant. The Mi-17V-5 helicopter is an upgraded version of the Mi-8 helicopter.

Mi-17V-5 can work better even in high altitude and extreme weather conditions. It is an upgraded version of Mi-8. The Mi-17V-5 has been specifically designed to operate optimally at high altitudes and in hot weather conditions.

India-US now Know about Military Exercise
This military exercise between India and America started from 15 November, which will continue till 2 December. Auli is just 100 kms away from LAC. In this exercise, Integrated Battle Groups will be tested in mountains and extremely cold areas. This exercise takes place in India for one year and in America for one year. Last year it was done in Alaska, USA.

During the ongoing military exercise in Auli, Indian Army used attack dogs for counter terrorist operation.

Indo-US military exercise is important
The China border adjacent to Uttarakhand is part of the Central Sector of the Indian Army. This area has been disputed between India and China for a long time. China’s military activities have increased in the area since the violent clash in the Glavan Valley two years ago. This is the reason why the military exercise between India and America is very important.

This military exercise between India and America will last for 17 days.

India will conduct infantry maneuvers with Australia
India is gradually strengthening defense ties with Australia. The armies of both the countries will conduct the first ‘Austra-Hind’ infantry combat exercise from 28 November to 11 December. An army official said – This will increase the ability to operate with both the countries in the semi-desert terrain.
