Junagadh city is engulfed in flood water. Roads have turned into rivers. The lower floors of the houses have been submerged in water.
A cloudburst in Gujarat’s Junagadh on Saturday afternoon caused flooding in the city. Here it rained 8 inches in just 4 hours. Due to this the whole city was submerged in water. The situation worsened as Mount Girnar adjacent to the city received 14 inches of rain. When the mountain water reached Junagadh city, the vehicles parked on the roads were washed away like straws.
The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for heavy rains in Bhavnagar, Navsari, Junagadh and Valsad for Sunday as well.

The low-lying areas of Junagadh have been inundated with water up to 5 to 6 feet. It has had the maximum impact in the Bhavnath area of the city. Here many animals were swept away in the strong current. Similar is the condition of Mubarak Pada near Kadwa Chowk. Many houses were completely submerged here. Due to the strong current, the Kale Kund bridge passing through the city of Junagadh has been closed.

3 to 4 feet water filled on city roads
In many areas including Durveshnagar, Ganesh Nagar, Joshipara of Junagadh, the roads are filled with 3 to 4 feet of water. A young man was swept away here, who was saved in time by the local people. Several two-wheelers have also been washed away in the areas. NDRF team is engaged in evacuating the people trapped in the flood.
Roads in Junagadh were submerged in four to five feet of water. Many vehicles got stuck in the water here.
Heavy rain continues in Junagadh since Saturday morning
It was raining continuously in Junagadh since Saturday morning. After this, the water coming from Mount Girnar worsened the condition of the city. Here many colonies were submerged in water. Only water is visible from the roads to the houses. Many vehicles were swept away or drowned in the water.

6 inches of rain in four hours in Navsari
Here, in Navsari district near Surat, 6 inches of rain in four hours has created a flood situation. Houses in low-lying areas have been inundated with water up to 5 feet. Roads are submerged in water. The Kalwa river is in spate due to heavy rains on Girnar and Datar mountain. Shops and houses were flooded up to five feet. More than 50 cylinders kept in the godown of the gas agency were washed away.
Due to the collapse of the wall of a gas agency godown in Navsari, it was flooded. Gas cylinders were swept away in the strong current.
20 gates of Shetrunji Dam were opened
The Shetrunji Dam, the lifeline of Bhavnagar city and Saurashtra’s biggest, overflowed on Friday night. Due to this, 20 gates of the dam have been opened up to one feet. Still, the inflow of water in the dam is continuing at a rapid pace. Due to this, an alert has been issued in 17 villages of the low-lying areas.
Saurashtra’s biggest Shetrunji Dam overflowed on Friday night. Due to this the situation of flood was created.
Canal overflow connecting Bilimora
Heavy rains lashed rural areas of Navsari district as well, leading to traffic snarls due to overflow of canal connecting Bilimora. People have to take a 20 km long detour as the drain connecting National Highway No. 48 has also overflowed. The fields have turned into ponds due to heavy rains. Two cars got buried due to wall collapse in Shantadevi area of Navsari city. Due to heavy rains in Khergam too, residential areas have been waterlogged.
In Jamnagar, the causeways of the villages have overflowed due to the overflowing of the local rivers.
