In Punjab, the Center is keeping a close watch on the ongoing action against Jathedar Amritpal Singh, the heir apparent of Punjab De. Suspended account of Simranjit Singh Mann.
The central government has taken this action against Amritpal Singh and Khalistan supporter and Sangrur MP Simranjit Singh Mann. The Central Government has suspended Simranjeet Singh Mann’s Twitter account SimranjeetSada. At the same time, the account of his party Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) is still active. Significantly, Khalistan supporter Simranjit Singh has been openly supporting Amritpal Singh since the beginning.
Had expressed apprehension of encounter
After the campaign against Amritpal Singh, when he was called a fugitive by the Jalandhar Police Commissioner, it was MP Simranjit Singh Mann who expressed the apprehension of an encounter. Simranjit Mann said – I am afraid that he (Amritpal Singh) may not be encountered. They will have to be produced before the magistrate by tomorrow. Otherwise, it will be understood that they were destroyed in an encounter.
If this happens, a huge rift will arise among the world wide Sikhs. Being a responsible parliamentarian, I suggest the state not to take such a step which will destroy them (the government).
Simranjit Singh Mann is warm hearted
Last year itself, Simranjit Singh Mann had won the Sangrur Lok Sabha bypolls. Mann was born in 1945 in Shimla in undivided Punjab. His father, Lt. Col. Joginder Singh Mann, was the Speaker of the Punjab Legislative Assembly in 1967. Mann has been a former police officer.
In 1984, he resigned from the post in protest against Operation Blue Star. He also remained in jail for five years. In 1989, first won the Lok Sabha election from Tarn Taran. At that time his victory was the biggest victory in the country. At that time Tarn Taran was considered the stronghold of Khalistanis.
Mann’s wife Preneet Kaur’s sister
The name of the wife of MP Simranjit Singh Mann is Geetinder Kaur Mann. Both Preneet Kaur and Geetinder Kaur, wife of former Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, are sisters. In 1994, Akali Dal Amritsar was formed by Simranjit Singh Mann at the behest of Shri Manjit Singh, the then Jathedar of Akal Takht.
