Panchayat elections are going to be held in West Bengal on 8th July. By June 15, all the candidates filed their nominations. During this, many incidents of violence and murder have come to the fore. A relative of the BJP candidate was murdered in Sahebganj, Cooch Behar on Sunday.

The name of the deceased is said to be Shambhudas, who was the brother-in-law of the female candidate Visakha Das Kismat from the BJP. Kismat is a candidate in the Bengal Panchayat elections from Dasgram in Sahebganj block of Coochbehar district. BJP has blamed TMC for this murder.

Union minister Pramanik’s convoy was attacked on Saturday
Union Minister of State for Home Nishith Pramanik’s convoy was also attacked on June 17 at Sahebganj in Cooch Behar. Pramanik was going to the block office located at Sahebganj. The work of scrutiny of the candidates was going on here.

Pramanik alleged that while he was going to the Sahebganj BDO office, his car was pelted with arrows and bombs by TMC supporters. After the incident, there was a fierce fight between BJP and TMC supporters in Sahebganj itself. Many people were injured in this. Read the full news here…
