A scuffle broke out between Khap Mahapanchayat representatives in Kurukshetra’s Jat Dharamshala.
A mahapanchayat of farmers and Khap organizations took place in Kurukshetra in the dispute between wrestlers and former President of Wrestling Federation of India, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. When Sube Singh Samain, spokesperson of Sarva Jatiya Khap Panchayat, went to stop the speaker speaking on the stage, people made him sit down by holding hands.
During this, there was a dispute between Khap and farmer representatives. Khap leaders said that apart from wrestlers, issues of farmers are also pending, they should also be discussed. After which the matter reached to a scuffle. At the same time, a 7-member committee including farmer leader Rakesh Tikait has been formed in the Mahapanchayat. The committee will take further decision in the matter of wrestlers.
Rakesh Tikait said- The government has been given time till June 9 to take action on Brij Bhushan. If this does not happen, then after this Khap mahapanchayat will be held in the whole country. In response to the question asked by the minor wrestler, he said that if the wrestler is an adult, then there must be some clauses in him too. If the government does not do anything then the image of the country will be tarnished. This issue will be taken to the international level.
If there was no incident of girls being dragged to Jantar Mantar, we would not have gathered here today. If the Delhi Police had come to arrest them, they would not have been able to compete. There is no competition with the government with cannons, going to jail is also a part of a movement. At the same time, he said that the Brijbhushan rally to be held in Ayodhya on June 5 has been canceled by the saints.

Earlier on Thursday, on the call of Rakesh Tikait, the national spokesperson of Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU), a mahapanchayat was held at the famous Soram Chaupal of Muzaffarnagar. Where Rakesh Tikait announced that now on June 2 i.e. today there will be a joint mahapanchayat in Kurukshetra. In which the solution will be found. He said that there was a lack of communication.
Meanwhile, the Panchayat had already been announced in Kurukshetra regarding this matter, so the decision was kept safe in the Panchayat due to the issue being the same.

Opposition of BJP-JJP leaders
Meanwhile, Balu Khap has made a big announcement in support of wrestlers in Haryana. The Khap said that till the time the MP Brij Bhushan Sharan is not arrested, no BJP-JJP leader will be allowed to hold any program in any village associated with the Khap. There are around 10 big villages including Balu in Khap. There will be opposition from BJP-JJP leaders in all these.
Bajrang Punia, Vinesh Phogat and Sakshi Malik are leading the protest against the former WFI president.
Will raise the issue before the President and Home Minister Amit Shah
Earlier, Chaudhary Rakesh Tikait said that this matter will also be raised before the President of the country and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He said that this episode of wrestlers will be placed before the International Wrestling Federation. If even that does not work out, then the path of agitation will remain open. He said that there has been excess with women wrestlers.
We expect the government to do justice in this matter. They believe that those who commit excesses against women wrestlers should be opposed. He said that the movement will also continue. The female wrestler who was a victim of exploitation is the pride of the country. Chaudhary Rakesh Tikait said that he does not know what is going to happen, but he is sure that he will continue to fight for justice for the victims.

Wrestlers would have immersed their medals in the Ganges. We went there in a hurry. We celebrated.

If something happens from the government’s side, everyone is in a mood of compromise. If Brij Bhushan is arrested then there will be a settlement.

Brijbhushan said – wrestlers are constantly changing the conditions
Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, former president of WFI in Gonda again said on Thursday that the Delhi Police is probing the matter. Earlier the demand of wrestlers was something else and later the demand became something else. They are constantly changing their terms. I had said on the first day that if even a single case is proved against me, I will be hanged. I still stand by my same point. I request all of you to wait for the police investigation.

- Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik along with Bajrang Punia started a dharna at Jantar Mantar on 18th January. Alleged that WFI President Brij Bhushan Singh sexually assaulted women wrestlers.
- After the controversy escalated on January 21, Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur met the wrestlers and formed a committee, but the report of the committee has not been made public till date.
- On April 23, the wrestlers again sat on a dharna at Jantar Mantar. He said that the strike will continue until Brij Bhushan is arrested.
- On April 28, on the orders of the Supreme Court, in the hearing of the petition of the wrestlers, the Delhi Police registered 2 FIRs against Brij Bhushan for molestation and under the POCSO Act.
- On the night of 3 May, there was a clash between wrestlers and policemen at Jantar Mantar. Dushyant, brother of wrestlers Rakesh Yadav and Vinesh Phogat, and 5 policemen were injured in the clash.
- On May 7, a mahapanchayat of Khaps of Haryana, UP, Rajasthan and Punjab took place at Jantar Mantar. In this, a 15-day ultimatum was given to the Central Government for the arrest of Brij Bhushan.
- Mahapanchayat was again held on 21st May and it was decided to hold candle march at India Gate and Mahila Mahapanchayat on 28th May at the new Parliament House.
- On May 26, the wrestlers held a press conference and told that on May 28, they would march on foot from the protest site to the new Parliament House.
- On May 28, when the wrestlers tried to go for the mahapanchayat in front of the new parliament building, the police took them into custody.
- On May 29, the wrestlers stayed at home all day and decided to go on a fast unto death at the India Gate.
- On May 30, the wrestlers went to Haridwar Har Ki Pauri to exchange their medals. Where on the persuasion of farmer leader Naresh Tikait, he postponed the decision by giving an ultimatum of 5 days to the government.
- On May 31, news agency ANI quoted sources as claiming that the Delhi Police did not have evidence to arrest Brij Bhushan. On this, Delhi Police denied it by tweeting and said – investigation is going on. Later Delhi Police deleted its tweet.
- On June 1, a mahapanchayat of many khaps of 5 states was held in Muzaffarnagar, UP. In which, along with meeting the President and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, it was announced to hold a mahapanchayat in Kurukshetra on June 2.
