India has made it clear that it will decide the place of G20 meetings only on its own.

India rejected the comments of a UN official regarding the G20 meeting to be held in Kashmir. This officer had expressed concern about the issue of minorities in the Valley.

The Indian mission in the UN responded to these allegations on Tuesday. Said- such allegations are baseless and false. India rejects them. As G20 President, India has the right to organize meetings of this summit in any part of the country.

A few days ago, UN’s Minorities Affairs Representative Fernand D’Vernes issued a statement on Jammu and Kashmir and the issues of minorities there. The Government of India has strongly objected to this.

G20 meetings are going to be held in Srinagar on 24th and 25th of this month.

what did india say
Indian mission in UN said- Fernand’s statement is extremely irresponsible. They are trying to politicize the issue of Jammu and Kashmir. He has tried to gain publicity on social media by misusing his position. Whatever he has said is actually the result of preconceived notions and it is a wrong act as a UN representative.

Vernes had posted a post on social media. It said that the decision to hold the G20 meeting in Jammu and Kashmir is wrong. He had expressed concern about human rights in the valley. At the same time, India was accused of undue use of force. It also included the allegation of suppressing the minorities.

China-Pakistan are continuously protesting
China and Pakistan are opposing the holding of the G-20 meeting in Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan was opposing this meeting by helping its supporting countries involved in G-20. China had said in March itself that the G-20 meeting should not be held in Jammu and Kashmir. Now after going to hold this meeting in Srinagar, it is believed that China can distance itself from it.

India presiding over the G-20 has already said that meetings related to the G-20 will be organized in 28 states of the country. Under this, these meetings were also held in Arunachal and Kashmir. China also stayed away from the G-20 meeting held in the last week of March in Itanagar, the capital of Arunachal Pradesh. Actually, China does not consider Arunachal as a part of India and in protest against this it did not attend the meeting.
