The story of Karnataka kept getting tangled up for four days. After all, only Siddha became entitled to the post of Chief Minister. Somehow the matter was settled. Till yesterday, DK Shivkumar was not ready to accept anything less than the post of CM. Although till a day ago it was believed that Siddaramaiah becoming the Chief Minister is almost certain.

Preparations for the oath ceremony had also started but had to be stopped suddenly. DK Shivkumar was lying bifurcated. Earlier he refused to accept the formula of Fifty-Fifty with Siddaramaiah. Then the formula of State President and two ministries was also rejected. On Wednesday morning, DK suddenly started a new maneuver. Said- I am not ready to become Deputy CM with Siddaramaiah, but if Kharge is made Chief Minister, I will become anything. I will do full service.

Rahul Gandhi held meetings with Siddaramaiah-DK Shivakumar on Wednesday morning and night.

Now Mallikarjun Kharge is the national president of the party, if he has been made the CM, then from where will the party, which was not able to elect the chief minister for four days, get the new national president? This thing was also explained to Shivkumar. He also understood but then said – I want the Chief Minister’s post in any case. Nothing less is acceptable now. First DK was persuaded by Kharge, then by Rahul Gandhi.

Priyanka Gandhi also met and late night Rahul Gandhi again met Siddha and DK and talked to her but things did not work out. At last the whole matter was postponed till tomorrow. Everything was fine till Thursday morning. Shivkumar agreed. He will become deputy CM. The state president will also be there. Maybe after two and a half years he will be made the CM.

Shivkumar is with his supporters in Delhi. It is believed that Shivkumar will take a decision after taking opinion from supporters.

Actually, the compulsion of Congress is that it did not want controversy in another state like Rajasthan. That’s why it took so many days. Anyway, the Congress has not been able to resolve the ongoing Gehlot-Pilot dispute in Rajasthan for the last one-and-a-half years. Neither she is able to stop Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot is not able to stop from the party at all. Everyone from Jaipur to Delhi has explained, but there is a dispute that is not being resolved. It is getting tangled.

Gehlot wants Sachin to leave the party and Sachin wants him to be sacked from the party. Although it cannot be said for sure, Sachin Pilot’s fierce voice against his own government suggests the same. Well, it seems that due to being away from power for a long time, the Congress high command has lost its status which it used to have. Otherwise, there was a time when party supervisors used to bring a slip from Delhi and the name of the new leader was announced after talking to the MLAs. There used to be petty sloganeering and the matter used to go away. Even in the case of Karnataka, no one was ready to listen to the party president Kharge. The matter was resolved only when Sonia Gandhi intervened.
