Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe students thrown out of hostels in Karnataka’s Bellary. These students were protesting against the poor quality of food served in the hostel. The opposition has targeted the government regarding this.

Leader of Janata Dal (Secular) and former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy said that this government sheds crocodile tears for Dalits, but students of SC/ST community are being treated abominably during this government.
Kumaraswamy said that providing good food is the responsibility of the Social Welfare Department and the district administration. But here instead of listening to the plea of the children, the District Commissioner has ordered to evacuate them. The people of the department who punished the children should be suspended immediately. There should be an inquiry in this matter.
