On the 39th anniversary of Operation Blue Star at the Golden Temple, the ongoing Akhand Path at Sri Akal Takht Sahib has been completed. Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh is giving message to the community. Meanwhile, Khalistani supporters started raising slogans.

Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh said- All Sikhs need to gather under Shri Akal Takht Sahib. If we get together, we can make the government bow down by bringing it here. The tragedy of 1984 makes us stronger. The more we are reminded of 1984, the stronger we are.

At the same time, the families of the Sikhs killed during the Blue Star operation will also be honoured. Sikh devotees started gathering on Tuesday morning itself. Some are holding pictures of Operation Blue Star in 1984, while some are peacefully holding posters demanding Khalistan. Video recording of those opposing Blue Star Operation is also being done.

Police, commandos and para-military forces are stationed outside the Golden Temple. At the same time, even inside the Golden Temple, the police force has been deployed in plain clothes.

Jathedar appeals not to raise slogans in the Golden Temple
The Jathedar of Shri Akal Takht Sahib Giani Harpreet Singh has already sent the copy of the opinion dated 18 July 2006 to the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC). In which there are details of the decision taken by the 5 Sahibans that no one will raise slogans of Zindabad or Murdabad in the Golden Temple premises.

It remains to be seen whether the Khalistani supporters raising slogans of Khalistan every year protesting against SGPC and Jathedar will obey these orders this year or not.
