Eid is being celebrated across the country today. Eid prayers were offered in mosques in the morning. People are congratulating each other. The moon of Eid was sighted on Friday evening. With this, the month of Ramzan which began on March 24 was completed.

Eid is celebrated on the first day of the Shawwal month of the Islamic calendar after the end of the month of Ramadan. It is also called Eid-ul-Fitr.

Sweet Eid is known for vermicelli
Eid-ul-Fitr is also called Sweet Eid. On this day people wear new clothes and feed each other vermicelli. According to Muslim religious beliefs, Prophet Hazrat Muhammad won the Battle of Badr in 624 AD. In the happiness of this, he celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr and sweetened the mouth of the people. Therefore, Muslims make sweet vermicelli and feed each other on this day. Zakat i.e. giving charity on the occasion of Eid is also very important.

Eid is usually celebrated a day before India in Arab countries. Actually, in Arab countries, the moon of Eid is visible a day before. The moon was sighted there only on 20 April, so Eid was celebrated on 21 April. The moon was sighted in India on April 21, so today Eid is being celebrated on Saturday.
