In the last 48 hours in Andhra Pradesh, 10 students committed suicide. Two other students also attempted suicide, though they survived. Andhra Pradesh Board of Intermediate had released the 11th and 12th results on Wednesday. These students have committed suicide due to low marks in the exam and failure in the paper.
According to the Andhra Pradesh Board of Intermediate, this time 10 lakh students appeared in the examination. 61% students passed in 11th and 72% students passed in 12th.
The relatives of the children who commit suicide are in bad condition by crying.
Two students also tried suicide
Case 1: According to reports, B Tarun (17) committed suicide by jumping in front of a train in Srikakulam district. Tarun Dandu was a resident of Gopalapuram village. The intermediate first year student was said to be dejected after failing in most of the papers.
Second Case: A 16-year-old girl committed suicide at her home in Trinadpuram under Malkapuram police station area. She is a resident of Visakhapatnam district.
Third Case: Akhilashree was in Intermediate first year. She was upset after failing in some subjects.
Fourth Case: An 18-year-old youth hanged himself at his house in Kancharapalem area of Visakhapatnam. He was a second year student and had failed in one subject.
Fifth Case: A 17-year-old girl student committed suicide by jumping into a lake in Chittoor district. She was upset after failing in the exam.
Sixth Case: A 17-year-old student of Chittoor district committed suicide by consuming poison. He was also upset after failing in the exam.
Seventh Case: In Anakapalle, a 17-year-old student committed suicide by hanging himself at his home. He was under stress due to low marks.
Apart from these, three more students have committed suicide. His details have not been revealed. According to reports, two other students also attempted suicide, though they survived.
The relatives of the children who committed suicide are raising slogans against the board.

Chief Justice DY Chandrachud has shared his pain regarding the increasing incidents of student suicides. CJI said, ‘Recently I had read the news of the suicide of a Dalit student. This incident reminded me of the news of the suicide of a tribal student at the National Law University in Odisha last year. My heart hurts thinking about the families of these students, but I wonder where our institutions are making mistakes that students are losing their precious lives.’ Read the full news here…
