A case has come to the notice of the Principal of HA Commerce College of GLC University, Ahmedabad, for raising slogans of ‘Jai Shri Ram’. This situation happened when the students started reciting Hanuman Chalisa sitting outside the principal’s office on Saturday. Actually, the ABVP students were angry that why the principal made them write an apology letter.

According to the information received from the college, on Friday after the lecture of B.Com Semester-1, some students started raising slogans of Jai Shri Ram. When the professor of the college complained about this to Principal Sanjay Vakil, he called the students to his office. 5 students had reached the principal. After this, Sanjay Vakil got the students written an apology, warning them to be expelled from the college.
On Saturday, students started reciting Hanuman Chalisa in front of the principal’s cabin.
Wrote in apology – mistake will not happen again
The students have written in the apology that they misbehaved in the class by chanting the slogan of Jaishree Ram. Our sloganeering caused trouble to other students in the class. That’s why we apologise. The students also assured not to repeat such mistake again.
Some students wrote the apology letter in English and some in Gujarati language.
ABVP workers demonstrated on Saturday for writing an apology
When the five students who wrote the apology came out and told this to the other students, they were furious. Because of this, on Saturday, ABVP students started reciting Hanuman Chalisa sitting outside Principal Sanjay Vakil’s cabin. Seeing the matter getting worse, the principal came out and raised slogans of Jai Shri Ram to persuade the students, only then the students agreed.
ABVP Vice President of GLS College Chahat Thakor told that we only raised slogans of Jai Shri Ram. The principal should not have made us write an apology at such a short juncture. We did this protest against this.
